There are mainly three methods of fishing: BOTTOM FISHING, JIGGING and TROLLINGBOTTOM FISHING is generally the most commonly used technique here

This bottom fishing technique is known locally as the “Apollo”. This setup can have 2 to 5 hooks depending on your preference. Normally 2 hooks are used since the frequency of strikes reduces as you go higher.

The technique here is locally called “fooi sien” which means “flying line”. The metal spreader helps prevent the leader from entangling the main line. The leader usually measures between 1m to 3m. Best to limit the length of the leader to the distance to your next angler.

JIGGING is an active fishing method. Slow or fast jigging targets different species. Slow jigging usually targets bottom fish and not energy intensive. Fast jigging covers more depth and attracts fish that dwell in mid section waters.
